Acupuncture
How can Acupuncture help you?
You’ve reached your breaking point, you’ve gone to so many doctors, taken the pills and you are STILL in pain. Unfortunately, this is often the sad reality of our current healthcare system; devoid of any health or care.
Acupuncture falls under the umbrella of Chinese Medicine.

This is the number one concern we get as Acupuncturists. The truth is, our childhood experience of getting shots as kids has left a bad impression, and rightfully so. Acupuncture needles are roughly the size of a strand of hair and just for visual reference, you can fit approximately 18 acupuncture needles in your standard hypodermic needle! Of course, this can vary slightly, but most patients report feeling little sensation.
-
This is a common question we get…and it’s somewhat hard to answer. Some people feel absolutely nothing, other people describe the sensation as a “fullness” or temporary “achey” sensation. Keep in mind, that acupuncture needles should NOT hurt. It should be a brief uncomfortable sensation that calms down quickly.
-
YES! Acupuncture is only ONE branch of Chinese Medicine. We are also trained in acupressure, Tuina ( Chinese Bodywork), herbal medicine, and food therapy. We also have many non-invasive tools to help you still achieve the results you are looking for without the needles. However, we take care and pride in making you feel comfortable enough to explore needles in the future.
-
Your first visit will be 90 minutes where we will take a deep dive into your health history and concerns. This is also a great time to bring any copies of previous medical history including labs/bloodwork. Please make sure to wear loose-fitted clothing and make sure to eat something 30 minutes prior and avoid any alcohol or caffeine before your session.
-
Your first visit will be significantly longer than treatments to follow as we act like detectives to figure out aspects of your disease pathology. This includes an extensive questionnaire along with looking at everything and anything from your facial complexion, pulse, and even your tongue. Please do not scrape or brush your tongue before the visit as this is a key diagnostic tool we use! The more open and honest you can be the better chances we have at coming up with an accurate treatment protocol AKA you will be feeling better sooner!
-
There is no definitive answer to how many treatments you will need until we assess your first treatment. Although there have been incredible turnarounds with some patients, most diseases ( besides acute cases) can show improvement in consistent treatment of at least 3 months. We want the absolute best for you and our goal is to get you feeling well in as little treatments as possible.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame”
